Cleaning your bathroom takes time and effort. Luckily, consistency pays off and your bathroom will smell great and be spotless. Sometimes certain parts of the bathroom may not be as spiffy as needed or expected. Here are five things you need to do to ensure your bathroom is in the best shape possible:

Clean behind your toilet

The spot behind your toilet may be hard to reach which is why it's not getting the attention it deserves. If not cleaned at least weekly, the area behind your toilet (including the wall an floor) can become smelly and filthy. Some items you may find when cleaning include hair and bits of toilet paper. Use an effective, all-around bathroom cleaner and a scrubbing sponge to get the results you want.

Wash your shower curtain

Did you know that cleaning your shower curtain liner is easy to do? All you have to do is put in the washing machine and let your washing machine do the work. Cleaning your shower curtain liner on a regular basis will prevent any buildup mildew and smelly odors. Throw it in the washer with a few of your used towels.

Wash and dry your floor mats

Floor mats can get real nasty if not cleaned regularly. Throw your floor mats in the washing machine every 8-10 days. Floor mats are a great location for bathroom mold to grow since floor mats can hold moisture and don't get too hot or too cold.

Clean your trash can

Unless you're completely unaware, your trash can gets dirty. There are a couple of options you can choose from to clean your trash can. One option is to wipe down your trash, inside and out, with a sanitizing wipe. The second option is to wash out your trash can in your bath tub or outside with hose and scrub it down with a sanitizing solution. Rinse out your trash can and properly dry it before installing a new liner.
